Principal’s Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As Term 1 comes to an end, I hope your child has had a great start to the school year and is feeling settled and engaged. It has been a busy and rewarding term, filled with exciting learning experiences and activities.
At the beginning of the term, we focused on setting routines, expectations, and creating a strong sense of belonging in our classrooms. As the weeks went by, students actively participated in various learning experiences, developing both academically and personally.
A key highlight of the term was our annual school camp for Year 5 students. Over three days, students took part in outdoor activities such as climbing, swimming, and bushwalking. These camps provided wonderful opportunities for them to build resilience, strengthen teamwork, and step outside their comfort zones in a supportive environment.
Looking ahead, we have many exciting events and learning opportunities planned for the rest of the year. We truly appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to working together to help your child grow and succeed.
As we embrace the holy month of Ramadan, we send our warmest wishes to our Muslim families and students. May this special time bring peace, joy, and spiritual fulfillment. In advance, we also wish you a happy and blessed Eid al-Fitr.
Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable term break
Best Regards,
Murat Guzel

Deputy Principal’s Message
Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,
As we come to the end of Term 1, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful start we have had to the academic year. It has been a pleasure to welcome our new students and see our returning students back in the classroom, ready to tackle new challenges and make the most of their learning experiences.
Our Foundation students have settled in beautifully, and it has been heartening to see them adjust so well to their new environment. Their enthusiasm and curiosity have been infectious, and we look forward to continuing to support their growth throughout the year.
This term, we’ve had the opportunity to engage in a variety of enriching incursions and excursions that have allowed our students to broaden their horizons and connect with the world around them. These activities have been an excellent way for students to apply what they’ve been learning in the classroom in real-world settings, and we are grateful for the positive impact these experiences have had.
A major highlight of this term was our Harmony Day celebrations. It was truly a special occasion where we came together as a school community to celebrate the diverse cultures that make our school so unique. The creativity, energy, and spirit of inclusion that filled the day were inspiring, and we thank all those who participated and helped make it a memorable event.
As we move forward into the next term, I encourage all students to continue their hard work and dedication. The progress made this term has been commendable, and I am confident that, with the support of our fantastic staff and the commitment of our students, Term 2 will be even more successful.
Thank you to our staff, students, and families for your continued support. Wishing everyone a well-deserved break and I look forward to seeing you all in Term 2.
Warm regards,

Teaching and Learning Coordinator
Dear Families,
As we come to the end of a busy and productive Term 1, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful learning experiences that have taken place across our school. It has been an exciting term filled with curiosity, engagement, and growth.
One of the key events this term was NAPLAN, where our students in Years 3 and 5 had the opportunity to demonstrate their learning and progress. We are incredibly proud of the effort they put into these assessments, approaching them with focus and determination. Regardless of results, NAPLAN is just one of many ways we track student learning, and we continue to support each child in their academic journey.
Beyond assessments, our classrooms have been alive with interactive and meaningful learning experiences. From literacy-rich discussions to hands-on mathematical explorations, our students have embraced new challenges with enthusiasm. Our enrichment programs have also taken off, providing students with exciting opportunities to engage in areas such as drama, sports, journalism, and product development.
A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers for their unwavering commitment to student learning, and to our families for your ongoing support. As we move into Term 2, we look forward to continuing to build on this strong foundation and fostering a love of learning in every child.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break!
Kindest Regards,
Ms. Bassant

Student Services Team
Hi Everyone!
Can you believe the end of the term is already here? Time has flown by, and it’s been an exciting few months as we’ve worked together to support our students’ growth and development.
Our Student Support Team has been working closely with our students to help them thrive and succeed in both their academic and social-emotional development.
Our Learning Support Team has provided in-class support, worked with students in our Guided Reading Program, and assisted during NAPLAN. Meanwhile, our Social-Emotional Support Team has been running programs to help students transition smoothly into school life.
For our Foundation students, we’ve been particularly focused on their transition to school. The counselling team ran the Bounce Program, which aimed to build resilience, encourage cooperation, and teach important lessons about personal space and respecting each other’s ‘bubbles’. These activities have been essential in helping our youngest learners settle in and form positive relationships with their peers.
Across all year groups, we’ve also been helping students manage the challenges that come with a new year—whether it’s settling into routines, overcoming anxieties, or developing social skills. It’s been a rewarding term, and we are excited to continue supporting the growth and development of all our students.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child's journey. We wish you all a wonderful holiday break and look forward to another great term ahead!
Warmest Regards,
The Student Support Team

🚶♀️ Walking for Wellbeing
Walking together with our families has been a fantastic way to encourage a healthy lifestyle while strengthening our school community. Parents and students enjoyed participating in these walks, which provided an opportunity to engage in relaxed conversations and build connections in a refreshing outdoor setting. We look forward to continuing this initiative in the coming terms!
🏡 Family Home Visits
This term, we also had the privilege of visiting several families in their homes. These visits provided a meaningful way to strengthen our relationships with parents and students outside of the school setting. It was wonderful to engage in deeper conversations, understand each family's unique experiences, and further build our connection as a school community. We truly appreciate the warm hospitality and look forward to more home visits in the future!

Religion and Values
Dearest Parents,
Our Religion and Values program has provided students with a meaningful foundation in understanding faith and character this term.
In Foundation, students explored the theme "I am a Muslim, and My Religion is Islam." They learned about Who is Allah (SWT) and His beautiful attributes, focusing on Al-Khaliq (The Creator) and Al-Razzaq (The Sustainer). Through engaging stories and activities, they developed a deeper appreciation for their connection with Allah, discovering the love between Allah and His creation (I Love Allah, Allah Loves Me). Additionally, they were introduced to the life and character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), learning from his kindness and teachings.
Across other Year levels, the focus was on the 6 Pillars of Faith, helping students strengthen their understanding of core Islamic beliefs. Through discussions and reflective activities, they explored the importance of faith in Allah, the angels, the divine books, the prophets, the Day of Judgment, and destiny (Qadar).
It has been an enriching start to the year, and we are proud of our students' enthusiasm for learning and growing in their values. We look forward to another inspiring term ahead!

Iftar Dinner at the Teacher’s House
In an effort to strengthen the bond between students and their teachers, some of our dedicated staff members graciously opened their home for an intimate iftar gathering. This special evening provided students with a warm and welcoming space to share in the breaking of fast, engage in meaningful conversations, and further develop the strong sense of community we cherish at our school.

They’re demonstrating resilience in their activities and interactions while forming strong, lasting friendships. We truly appreciate your continued support this term and look forward to all the great things to come!
Highlights of Term 1:
Pyjama Day
Something hilarious happened on Thursday, 20th February, our foundation students and teachers all showed up to school in their pyjamas! It was Pyjama Day, and let’s just say it was a sight to see. We spent the day celebrating the letter "Pp" with fun activities like painting possums with watercolours, decorating our PJs, and watching episodes of Postman Pat and Peppa Pig. We also enjoyed some delicious potato chips and popcorn. It was a day filled with creativity, comfort, and lots of laughs!
Mind & Body Incursion
Our first incursion of the year, Mind & Body, was a wonderful experience. The instructors led an insightful discussion on the connection between behaviour and emotions, and shared techniques to help manage challenging situations. Students practiced basic strength, coordination, and flexibility exercises. Each student received a glow-in-the-dark stone as a reminder to take deep breaths when feeling sad or anxious.
STEM – Living Things Unit
In STEM this term, our students are exploring the needs of living things. We’ve been comparing the needs of plants, animals, and humans, and learning how each must be cared for to thrive. Students have even planted their own grass heads, observing the growth process firsthand.
Looking Ahead:
We are excited for the rest of Term 1, where we will continue to engage in hands-on learning and fun activities. In the coming weeks, our focus will shift to new letters and sounds, along with creative art projects and opportunities for social development through play. We also have another upcoming incursion which is our Team Building incursion on Thursday the 20th of March.

Year 6 Team
Dear Parents and Guardians,
What an exciting start to the year it has been! Our Year 6 students began Term 1 filled with a mix of emotions; a blend of nervous anticipation and bubbling excitement as they stepped into their final year of primary school. It didn’t take long, however, for them to settle into their new routines, and we are incredibly proud of how they’ve embraced their learning and responsibilities so far.
English
This term in English, our focus has been on biography writing. The students started by crafting their own autobiographies; a wonderful opportunity to reflect on their lives, accomplishments, and goals. They bravely shared their stories with their classmates, building both their writing and public speaking skills. As the term progresses, we will continue to explore biographical texts, diving deeper into the lives of famous writers, historians, and athletes.
One of the most exciting highlights to look forward to is our upcoming excursion to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Sports Museum. There, students will not only explore the rich history of sports but will also have the incredible opportunity to meet a professional athlete and listen to their life story — a real-life biography brought to life!

Enrichment
Enrichment – Product Development Class
Igniting Creativity and Innovation!
As we kicked off Term 1, excitement was in the air! Our Product Development class was all about exploring ideas, thinking like young entrepreneurs and bringing creative visions to life. In just the first few sessions, students brainstormed potential business ideas and decided on the products they would be developing this term. Then the following weeks students made these visions come to life.
A key focus of this class was understanding the language of entrepreneurship. Students learned essential business concepts, including entrepreneurship, profit, target customers, goods and services, and product development. Mastering these terms will help them think strategically about creating products that people want and need.
This term, students took on several hands-on projects, including designing and customizing wooden treasure boxes, diaries and paintings. Through these projects, they explored, invented and refined their ideas, developing the skills and mindset needed to turn creativity into real-world success.
In the coming terms we are excited to see our students dive into the world of entrepreneurship, test their curiosities, and bring their innovative ideas to life. It’s going to be a fantastic term of learning, creating, and growing!
Stay tuned for updates on their progress!
